Instructions

  • Cut bread into ½-inch cubes and toast in a 170°F (77°C) oven on a cookie sheet for 90 minutes.
  • Let bread cubes completely cool in oven.

Store toasted bread cubes in an airtight container for several days.

Notes

Crouton recipes often recommend Lois Lang Bread from Breaking the Vicious Cycle p.127. This recipe is categorized as a main ingredient of almonds, but compliant breads using other ingredients will work just as well. Croutons can be seasoned before dehydrating if you like.
