Ingredients

2 1-inch size cinnamon sticks

7 whole cloves

1 TBSP whole coriander seeds

1 TBSP whole cumin seeds

½ tsp fennel seeds

1 tsp whole black peppercorns

1-2 dried red chilies (cayenne or jalapeno or Thai), seeded

½ tsp turmeric powder

⅓ tsp red cayenne pepper

½ tsp cardamom powder

  • Mix all base ingredients in grinder (can use coffee grinder) until you get a fine powder-like consistency. Make sure the seeds are ground into powder.

When I first came to America, I would just buy spices from the local grocery store down the street.
